This week brought another finalist award to Journeys of Heartache and Grace: Conversations and Life Lessons from Young People with Serious Illnesses, this time from the International Book Awards in the Death and Dying Category. Many thanks to all for making this journey possible.

Thinking of Mom …
As we come upon Mother’s Day 2010, I am thinking in earnest of my Mom, just as I do on every other day. How I miss her and her huge presence in our lives! She died on November 30, 1999, 12 days after her own Mom died, my beloved Grandmother. How I miss them both, and my beloved Aunt Dee and my Great Aunt Fern, and all the motherly persons who have been so instrumental in my foundation and spirit of life.
To them all, and to all of you and yours mothers, I say a heartfelt gratitude of thanksgiving and prayer. They remain with us forever, whether they are here on this earth physically or living in our hearts and memories.
